I used to do long rides up the surround climbs. 60-100 mile rides were the norm for Saturday. Sunday would be recovery ride for me. Monday is dead day. Commute to work on my folding bike Tuesday through Wednesday. Repeat.

Now that I am tapering off for the year and I have a kid of my own, I am going to focus on time trialing. Wake up early morning before everyone is up. Ride 30 mins to my start, and then start hammering through my course. Each course is about 10 to 17 miles. Then TT back home. Typical weekend ride is 30-40 miles and I am absolutely exhausted after the effort.

I never worked my anaerobic engine in the past so I am somewhat of a weak time trial rider. It's fun to race against yourself and see the gains weekend after weekend.
